Jacquard – a weaving technique with history
Jacquard weaving originates from the invention of Joseph-Marie Jacquard, who in 1804 constructed a loom capable of producing complex patterns directly within the structure of the fabric. Today this technique remains one of the most refined in the world of silk — every jacquard pattern is the result of precisely programmed loom instructions and years of experience by master weavers. The result is a fabric with a subtle, three-dimensional depth that cannot be achieved by any method of printing.
