Grenadine silk
Grenadine pocket squares handmade at the Tiestore.pl tailoring atelier in Warsaw for nearly 30 years, using cloth from two mills — Fermo Fossati (est. 1871, Italy's oldest silk producer) and Seteria Bianchi (est. 1907) — the only places on earth where authentic grenadine is woven. Available in two weaves: filolao (garza fina), with its denser, more restrained structure, and garza fina with its more open, honeycomb weave. A grenadine pocket square is the choice of the man who understands that the detail visible at one step's distance says more than the entire ensemble.

Grenadine — a fabric from the only mills of their kind
Grenadine (garza) is a silk fabric with an open gauze weave in which two warp threads twist around each weft — creating a structure that is simultaneously stable and breathable. Exactly two mills in the world weave authentic grenadine: Fermo Fossati, founded in 1871 in Como — Italy's oldest silk producer and Europe's third-oldest — and Seteria Bianchi, founded in 1907, also in Como. It was Seteria Bianchi that wove the cloth for Daniel Craig's Brioni jackets in Casino Royale. Every pocket square in the Tiestore.pl collection is made from cloth woven at one of these two mills.
Filolao and garza fina — two weaves, two characters
The Tiestore.pl collection offers pocket squares in both grenadine weaves. Filolao (also known as garza piccola or garza fina) is Seteria Bianchi's denser, more refined weave — formally restrained, ideal for business and evening suits. Garza fina — with its larger, more pronounced mesh — has a bolder character and greater visible texture, making it the more immediately recognisable element in a composition. Both weaves are solid-coloured: the ornament of a grenadine pocket square is always the fabric itself, never a pattern.
The collection and finishing
Grenadine pocket squares are available in dozens of colours — from classic black, navy and burgundy to shades of green, brown, grey and white. Every pocket square is finished with hand-rolled edges — a rouleau hem — the hallmark of a top-quality maker, ensuring the square sits more naturally in the breast pocket and holds its fold with greater ease. Sizes from 26×26 to over 40×40 cm, with non-standard dimensions available on individual commission.
Pairing and styling
A grenadine pocket square works most naturally with striped suits, Prince of Wales check and other structured cloths — the grenadine's texture enters into dialogue with a prominent pattern rather than competing with it. With a plain suit and a smooth shirt, it becomes the sole visual focal point of the composition. The Tiestore.pl tailoring atelier in Warsaw is available to advise on pairing with a specific ensemble.
