Grenadine bow ties handmade at the Tiestore.pl tailoring atelier in Warsaw for nearly 30 years, using cloth from the only two mills in the world that weave authentic grenadine: Fermo Fossati (est. 1871) and Seteria Bianchi (est. 1907), both in Como. Available in two weaves — garza grossa with its open, pronounced honeycomb structure, and garza fina with its denser, more formally restrained character. Every bow tie in the collection is self-tie; the adjustable version has no place here.

Grenadine — a fabric for the connoisseur
Grenadine is a silk fabric with an open gauze weave in which two warp threads twist around each weft — creating a structure that is simultaneously breathable and exceptionally durable. Only two mills in the world weave authentic grenadine: Fermo Fossati, founded in 1871 in Como — Italy's oldest silk producer and Europe's third-oldest — and Seteria Bianchi, founded in 1907, also in Como. Garza grossa has the larger, more open honeycomb weave — the fabric James Bond has worn since Dr. No. Garza fina is subtler and denser, more formally restrained, appropriate for evening and business dress.
The self-tie bow tie — why it matters
A self-tie bow tie differs from an adjustable one not merely in its fastening but in its entire character. A hand-tied bow tie is never perfectly symmetrical — and that is precisely its virtue. The slightly asymmetrical knot, the barely uneven wings, the visible evidence of a hand at work: these are the qualities that distinguish a man who has genuinely dressed from one who has merely put on clothes. The collection and palette
The Tiestore.pl grenadine bow tie collection spans dozens of colours — from classic black, navy and burgundy to shades of green, violet, brown and grey — in both garza grossa and garza fina. Every bow tie is handmade in Warsaw, in standard sizes appropriate to a range of face and collar proportions. The atelier will make a bow tie in a non-standard size or a colour outside the current collection on individual commission.
Pairing and styling
A grenadine bow tie works equally well with a business suit and with black-tie dress — garza fina for evening, garza grossa for less formal occasions. Like grenadine ties, grenadine bow ties are solid-coloured: their ornament is the weave, not a pattern. They pair most naturally with shirts of pronounced weave structure — oxford, twill, and seersucker in the warmer months. Craft and design at the highest level.
